Lexmedia Digital Receives ISO-14001 Certification
November 19, 2004

Lexmedia Digital Corporation, the commercial division of the Print Town group, announced that it was awarded its ISO-14001 certificate, testifying to the company’s environmental management system’s compliance to the International Standard. The state-of-the-art printing facility located in Mamplasan, Laguna was certified by TUV, Phils., an independent certification body, after completing the two audit stages. The ISO-14001 certificate indicates Lexmedia Digital’s compliance with legal requirements, especially those on pollution prevention, proper waste segregation, proper handling, storage, use and disposal of chemicals, as well as the optimum use of major resources through waste minimization.

“We are delighted that our factory and our procedures have been recognized as meeting world-class standards for environmental management,” said Lexmedia Digital President Dennis O. Valdes. “This is an essential step towards achieving Print Town’s vision to be “the best way to put ink on paper.”

Many publishers and print buyers require ISO-14001 certification of their suppliers as part of their own efforts to preserve the environment.

Lexmedia Digital is part of the Print Town Group, the country’s largest newspaper and commercial printer. Established in 2001, Lexmedia began its operations offering digital pre-press services to the Philippines Daily Inquirer and magazine advertisers. Today, Lexmedia is a complete, one-stop-shop publishing hub with premedia, design and prepress, press and postpress services. Because it operates the country’s most modern presses with the latest technology, Lexmedia is able to offer high quality printing and quick delivery. Highly skilled staff, many with overseas training, provide its book, magazine and catalog customers with innovative ideas at cost-effective prices.

“ISO-14001 is part of our total quality initiatives,” said Brian K. Ng, Lexmedia Senior Vice President and General Manager. “We expect to receive certification for our Quality Management system in the future as well. Our customers can be confident that we are compliant with international standards and that our people will continue to work hard in exceeding those standards.”
